JORGE'S 69BY BEACON IMAGES

This unique collection shows a 27 MHz Propagation Beacon operated by Jorge. This beacon is located in Costa Rica, Central America, and is an 11 Meter "Free Band" worldwide monitoring propagation Beacon Indicator, which helps to show when the 11 Meter Band is open. The purpose of the Beacon is to help establish propagation PATHS to various countries around the world.

Reports as always, are greatly appreciated, - only report the 'Call', 'Name', 'Location' and 'Date', 'UTC', 'Frequency', 'Mode' and 'RST' of the Beacon when you heard it. For this you will receive a Beacon QSL Card.
Beacon QSL requests are welcome, and a SASE would be appreciated but is not compulsory. Also, if you hear the beacon please announce it on the DX Clusters then Jorge and other users will get automatic alerts that propagation is open on the band. The following Clusters can be used for this purpose:

  • The Propagation Beacon will help to show both the expected and unexpected paths.

Please send your S.W.L. Reports to: Jorge 69BY/BCN:

Please note that there is also another 27 MHz Beacon (14RS000 Beacon on 27.499 MHz) operating from France, more information can be found here:
